From Cindy Quirk:
I have been a little preoccupied with my parents lately
because Daddy has not been doing well....constantly falling and going downhill more and more daily.
Please keep Mama and Daddy in your prayers today.
Daddy is having emergency brain surgery today at either 2pm or 3pm.
It will take 3 hours and they are relieving fluid from between his
brain and skull and then repositioning the shunts that are already there.
He has been on a blood thinner so this is sort of tricky surgery but if
he doesn't have it now, the pressure from the fluid will kill him.
And then there is the recovery time and rehabilitation.
They need lots of prayers. Mama isn't doing well with this situation right
now because she is frightened that she is watching him die.
This is the third brain surgery in two years and the second in 4 months. Not a good trend.
Please place them on your prayer lists to provide strength, comfort and healing.

Update Regarding Phil Granger:
The following update comes from Phil's administrative assistant.
It wasn't going too well for Phil in the early part of the week
as there were several issues being dealt with and so he was put in an induced coma.
It appears progress has been made. - Janice Ruckman
As a recipient of news from the hospital every morning, and phone calls and e-mails from people all over the world in every time zone who are praying fervently and continually, it has been especially "interesting" (for lack of a better word) and encouraging for me to hear reports from you. A prayer request goes up, someone somewhere is awakened in the night to pray, just at the same time that hands are laid on Phil, at the same time someone somewhere else in another part of the world has received a word from the Lord and prays - and unity within the entire body of Christ is apparent as our petitions reach the throne. And God continues to answer with mercy, favor and healing in His wings.
This morning they have decided NOT to do the tracheotomy.Because he is doing so much better!! His oxygen is down to 40% - the lowest it's ever been. The medication they were giving him to keep him sedated so that he could breathe has been reduced DRASTICALLY. He was awake enough this morning to smile and squeeze Sue's hand.
Friends, WE HAVE CAUSE TO REJOICE THE MORE SO.God's arm is not too short to save. He has been, is, and will continue to be faithful to His Word. Thank you for raising your voices to the Father on Phil's behalf, for pushing back the enemy's plans and allowing God to glorify Himself through all of this.
I would ask that you continue praying as you have been until Phil's total health is restored. Today, their son, Randy, has a very special retirement ceremony. This is the first time in Randy's life that Phil is not able to be with him. This news today is helping him and the family go through it with rejoicing and celebration. Continue please to lift them up, especially Sue, as they need continued rest and strength.
On behalf of Phil and The Mission Society, we love you. Now go somewhere and SHOUT!!!!
