Mike's mother passed away this morning. It's been a long day. I wondered how to phrase this e-mail. Then I read what Jan Tindall, Mike's sister, had written. I had to send this to you. It says it all. We will send you more service and memorial info, when we know. We covet your prayers.

Mother passed away a little while ago. We were called to her bedside this morning because the vitals were dropping. We met there we talked to her, we talked to the nurses, and to Hospice staff.. And the Hospice minister who had been meeting with her for the last year or so visited and prayed with us.
Mike and I were not in the room with her, but Gordon was when she heaved her last breath. They had been making her comfortable, and we had talked about many things lately. The last was how proud we kids could be about her walk with Christ.. And how she had led us throughout our lives in that direction.
She is comfortable now, and although the tears run down our cheeks, we are very happy for her to be with Jesus. As we determine when the memorial will be I'll send another note. Thanks for your prayers and love. Jan & John Tindall

Update: From Polly Chesterman
Hi, have received word that Chris is at home now. The various tests did not show anything, so they do not know where the bleed was from, but it has stopped. Last known hgb was 9. On same meds, etc, etc. Thanks for the prayers.

Thursday, 1/7/10 @ 8:22 PM:
UPDATE: From Polly Chesterman
Hi, just talked to Chris. He told me that the camera scan yesterday did not show them anything. There is no active bleeding now. His hemoglobin is still at 9. Not sure what the doc is planning to do now. I spoke to Chris about noon, and have not heard any more since then. He was hoping they might discharge him, but with the nasty weather storm we are in the midst of, it might be hard for someone to go and bring him home. Chris told me there has been nor further bleeding noted, so that is a positive thing. Thanks for the prayers...they sure are appreciated.

Update on Chris Chesterman From: Polly Chesterman

Good news today...after 6 transfusions they have his hemoglobin level up to 9. They did the camera scan today...he had to swallow a capsule with a camera inside...it took pics all the way through his colons. He will learn the results tomorrow. Lou took Grace up to see him and Chris was actually sitting up, joking and more like himself. He actually go real food for supper, I am sure that helped make him a happy camper.
So keep the prayers coming...I know they are working. If things keep improving, they may even send him home tomorrow.
Tomorrow is when we are due to be hit with this nasty winter storm...so who knows...?????

UPDATE: From Brian & Bootsie Beeks:

Doctor's came in at about 3:30 this afternoon (1-6-09) to talk to us about test results. Following an MRI that looked normal, EMG that show normal nerve conduction and a spinal tap that showed no abnomalities (there were an elevated number of cells caused by all the IVIG treatments but over time it will take care of itself). Doctor's have declared that there is now no evidence of Guillain Barre active in Benjamin's system. His current weakness is attributed to his long hospital stays.
We are thankful for the wisdom and knowledge God gives to doctors. We are thankful for the power of prayer. We don't understand exactly how the two work together, but we are thankful for the results
We still have a lot of rehab and recovery ahead of us, but it is so good to know Guillain Barre is behind us. We still have a couple consultations with doctors in the morning and depending upon the weather we may get out tomorrow. If the weather is as bad as they predict, it may be Friday.
Thank you for your faithful prayer, love and concern. If you have shared Benjamin's concern with anyone, please share this praise and answer to prayer with them.

Chris is our youngest son, he was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia last May
Yesterday morning, Chris was admitted to Lutheran Hospital for bleeding in the intestinal tract. He has been on a new med for his leukemia the past couple months and had not experienced any side effects to it. Last week he began having the tarry stools and reported it to the doc. Then over the long weekend the bleeding began. Doc is not sure if it is due to new leukemia med or related to the previous bowel problems he had in the past.
All I really know at this point is that he definitely needs LOTS of prayer. He was to start a new job today, and now that can't happen and therefore, he may be minus a job...not sure yet what will happen there. More prayer needed for the job situation.
Will keep you posted as new info becomes available. His hemoglobin is down at 5 and should be somewhere in the teens...this is making him extremely weak and very tired. ...they have tried several experimental drugs and this is the last one they have...next resort is a bone marrow transplant. He is at Lutheran Main…Thanks for the prayers...Polly

Pastor Brian & Bootsie Beeks’ son Benjamin is an 8th grader. After receiving the seasonal flu vaccine in November, he was diagnosed with Guilliane-Barré Syndrome. He has been in & out of the hospital in Lafayette for treatments and spent one week in Payton Manning pediatric rehab. He is now at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indy. The treatments are not having the same effect as they had earlier, and more doctors are being consulted. The family covets any and all prayers on their behalf – for healing for Ben, wisdom for the doctors, and strength for Brian and Bootsie
